I and we are so fortunate to know about Adi Da and be able to read, study, listen to, and watch Him speak about this profound practice of Realization He came here to give us. I know of no other teaching so profound and full as His. He says it has never been given so full and complete in the history of mankind. At most it has only been pointed to, and there are very few hints of even that He says, and from what I know and heard about this is absolutely true. Until He brought it to us it was virtually unknown in the world. There are perhaps a handful of people who speak of their enlightened Realization but none so fully and completely as Adi Da that I’ve ever seen or heard of.
What He brought through this practice and relationship with Him is potentially totally life transforming. Like He says it is like being transformed from a dinosaur into a human full of the Love Bliss Happiness that He has shown to us. Before Him there really was not this possibility in this most profound and full sense that I am aware of, and this is what He has said.
Certainly it isn’t easy to practice this self transcending way and as an ego you can’t “do” it. As an ego you don’t want to do it. We are so patterned from birth and even previous lives to live as this ego or separate self in every moment that it is a very engrained and automatic activity. The reflex to protect “my separate self” from “others” and find ways to fulfill “myself” and achieve success for “myself” are so engrained in us since birth that it isn’t easy to change that pattern and turn to the Divine in all moments instead.
He tells us over and over as the ego we will never be fulfilled. Everyone wants to be fulfilled, hopes and prays they will be fulfilled someday, and actively tries to be fulfilled, even in daily activities like lunch. More exaggerated versions are like criminals and dictators who aggressively seek fulfillment in whatever ways they can. However “nobody” has ever been fulfilled and “nobody” ever will be. It is impossible for a separate self or ego to be fulfilled since it is an illusion as He tells us, and in Reality there is no separate self or anything. There are “apparent” separate body-minds however our “error” as He says is in the moment to moment presumption of being a separate “I” or “me”. In Reality He tells us we are all appearing in Him or the Divine and there is no separate anything. Furthermore He tells us obviously we will all eventually die, and it could be tomorrow for all we know. So this “separate self” will definitely come to an end. We all know this and yet persist in thinking we can somehow become fulfilled in this world. Positive disillusionment is in realizing what He says is so true, we will not be fulfilled. So the only real option is to turn to the Divine. No other options are satisfactory. It is the Truth and must be lived.
